Sōl Food, Erica Brown´s Vegetarian catering business catered for a recent fracking seminar held at Cedara in the KZN Midlands. Approximately 150 delegates attended the day long World Wide Fund for Nature and Frack-Free South Africa seminar. Erica and her assistant, Daisy, handled the event with ease.

Erica's ethos is sustainability, she has a background in the food industry, and uses event catering as an opportunity to spread the sustainable living message by using delicious, wholesome, home-made vegetarian food in place of meat and fast foods.

Erica prepared most of the dishes the day before the WWF seminar and spent a busy, and surprisingly calm, morning with Daisy, doing last minute preparations before serving the tea and lunch.

Erica Brown is a 'seed saver' and the founder of SōlSeed, a KZN Midlands based heirloom seed company. Seed saving, or 'brown bagging' as it is sometimes known, is an ancient agricultural tradition developed as a way of ensuring crop continuity and human survival.

In principle SōlSeed and Sōl Food are more than just about the saving and distribution of natural seeds. They are a philosophy of sustainable living; that includes natural food & juice catering at events in the midlands, and  most recently, in the spirit of sustainable living, Erica has added up-cycled clothing to the Sōl brand -  Jipsè Sōl.
